Daniel Rossen: The Cream Interview

slowblog:

Had the pleasure of speaking with Grizzly Bear’s Daniel Rossen in advance of his show with William Tyler in Nashville this weekend. Talked stepping outside GB’s shadow (this is his first solo tour), how Radiohead’s Kid A made rock music interesting to him after years of being trained in jazz/classical kid, and more.

Our blog is 5 YEARS OLD

Hey guys!

Our first post on this blog was made 5 years ago this month. It’s insane how much the blog has grown since then. Initially, the idea was sparked by wanting to share content I found with other fans who were as passionate as I was about Grizzly Bear, and at the time, was mostly followed by our friends. I’m so glad so many Grizzly Bear fans, both new and old have found us throughout the years (and to Tumblr for putting us on the map). We really appreciate the constant love, reblogs and support—we know the band feels it too. Your excitement and enthusiasm really are the fuel to the fire.

And of course we have to give much love to the guys of Grizzly Bear, who have been so endlessly kind to us over the years—most notably for the voluntary surprise trip to New York in 2012 to watch them perform at Radio City Music Hall. You have given us priceless memories which we hold with us for the rest of our lives. Ed, Dan, Chris, Chris—you already know how much we care, but thank you furthermore.

Cheers to a crazy amazing five years, and many more to come!

Much love y’all,
Kerry & Lauren
