For the upcoming week, we’ll turn our attention to acclaimed Brooklyn indie rockers Grizzly Bear, and for this we’ll have a guest blogging duo for the first time!
Apart from gbg!, Lauren is a freelance writer who has contributed to Consequence of Sound and The Herald Standard, among others. She also has a personal tumblr. And Kerry is a photographer — you can check out her works on her website and her tumblr.

We’re very excited to be working with this awesome project One Week One Band this week. Be sure to follow as we’ll be posting on all things Grizzly Bear old and new.
I struggled with the idea of them flying me to NYC because Grizzly Bear Galore is more of a fun side project among friends than a serious undertaking. At times I didn’t even really think I deserved it. But, I think it really hit me how much it means to fans and family and friends when we were at the after party.
I know a lot of people follow that blog and I know a lot of people have said really nice things, but I never knew how much people equate that blog with their love of the band. It was one of the most surreal experiences in my entire life to have their loved ones tell Kerry and myself how much they love our blog and how they use it as a tool to keep tabs. We’ve received kind e-mails before, but to put actual faces to their words and know that they truly meant it was crazy.
There will never be enough blingees, or hearts or thank yous that can properly express how much this trip meant to me. When I first saw Grizzly Bear in 2007 at The Warhol I never imagined that one day I’d be meeting them in person, and hearing them tell me thank you. I love this band more than words can ever express and I’ll never forget what they’ve done for me. I’ll never forget this trip and I’m forever grateful that they allowed me into their lives.

As you may or may not have heard, Grizzly Bear’s last show of this year (and probably quite some time until a new album is released) will be for the Bridge School Benefit on October 23-24th in the San Francisco area. If you live nearby, tickets can be purchased starting on Sunday through Livenation. More info here.
Since Grizzly Bear’s touring schedule is dying down—it will probably mean that our updates will be pretty minimal until there are new and exciting things to announce from them. However, if you have something you’d like to submit during their little tour hiatus—feel free to drop us a line on tumblr, or shoot us an email.

Hi everyone! My name’s Kerry and I am one of the behind the scenes people at the Grizzly Bear Galore (www.grizzlybeargalore.tumblr.com) tumblr—a fan blog that is a source for anything Grizzly Bear. I’m excited to say that recently I have been added as an administrator with Nick Scholl for the Grizzly Bear facebook page! I have synced our tumblr posts with the facebook page, which means the facebook page feed will be increased with more news, photos, videos and interviews. Just wanted to let everyone know so it doesn’t come a surprise when updates are a little heavier than usual! :)
